Emergency and Incident Management Services Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation (51933) established by James THOMSON and Todd PENDER with the goal to provide organisations with training and assistance from subject matter experts within their chosen fields.

The EIMS team pride themselves on providing relevant and contemporary training that is customised to the client whether it is training, EM audits, exercises or staff development.

Todd PENDER: Director

Todd has over 20 years Policing experience with a focus on event management, incident planning and emergency management. He also has 15 years with the Western Australia State Emergency Service, 10 of which he has been an instructor/assessor and currently the Operations Manager with his unit. Todd has numerous Emergency Management qualifications (Diploma Search and Rescue, Risk Management, Evacuation Management, Trainer/Assessor – Exercise Management, Rescue, Communications, Land Search, CBR Incidents and Emergencies).

Todd uses his expansive knowledge to assist Government and Private organisations in tailoring training to meet customers needs including, the preparation and management of exercises in varied formats to meet objectives set, the development of plans to identify/analyse/evaluate/treat risks and to establish networks and shared arrangements.

 

James THOMSON: Director

James is a dedicated educator and trainer with 14 years of Policing experience. Two of his many qualifications include a Master of Training and Development and a Master of Business Administration. James has used his expertise in education to develop training packages for Government and Private organisations including training organisations such as Edith Cowan University. James specialises in emergency management, conflict resolution, negotiation and leadership.

James also offers his knowledge as an Operational Safety and Tactics Instructor within the Policing and Security Industries. James was awarded the 2009 Deans Award for Excellence in Sessional Lecturing in the Faculty of Business & Law and the 2011 Deans Award for Excellence in Teaching (Edith Cowan University).

 

Terry Jackson: Consultant and Trainer

Terry Jackson is the author of Managing Emergencies, a book that provides guidelines for emergency preparedness for commercial/industrial operators. He served for 35 years starting as an ambulance officer and moving into the fire and emergency management sector achieving the rank of Superintendent in Western Australia. He served as an operational fire officer and was responsible for the commercial delivery of fire and rescue training services for a number of major companies in the WA mining, oil and gas industries and other commercial and industrial sectors. He has conducted emergency risk audits of hospitals, public buildings, lodging houses and other commercial enterprises. He has also developed and delivered emergency planning education programs and participated in the emergency and business continuity preparedness activities of the state education sector and the aged care industry.

Terry has very strong personal interest and has pursued studies in emergency risk management, emergency planning and business continuity. In addition he holds a Diploma in Fire Engineering (Management) and a post graduate certificate in Emergency Management.

 

Ming Thomson: Compliance Officer and Researcher

Ming completed her Master of Clinical Psychology in 1999 and is a registered psychologist. Ming has worked for the State Government within Health and Disability Services as a Strategic Service Development Officer, developing and reporting key performance indicators,  conducting consultation sessions with stakeholders, survey development in consumer satisfaction and organisational surveys, and developing policy and project implementation.  Ming has also worked for Edith Cowan University and Curtin University in conducting research and performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Ming has developed and delivered training seminars on stress management, conflict resolution and handling difficult people for general practitioners and medical practice managers. Ming's experience also extends to servicing the oil, gas and mining industry.

 

Derek HUTCHINSON: Consultant and Trainer

Derek has been involved in Emergency Management for over twelve years. He has over twenty years policing experience and has completed courses in Exercise Management; Emergency Planning; Risk Management, Incident Management and Search and Rescue (land and maritime environments) both nationally and internationally.

Derek is a qualified trainer and has been involved in many Incident Management Teams during major incidents and been actively involved in developing and conducting exercises for Emergency Incidents (Air crash, Search and Rescue, CBR, Fire and Transport)

Derek brings extensive experience in training police, volunteers, public and private sector employees. He has a very enthusiastic approach to Emergency Management that ensures people and communities are prepared for emergency incidents.

 

Yee YEU: Trainer

Yee started his career as a corporal with the Australian Army where he worked in areas of surveillance, water borne operations and training before working with the Police for over nine years. He performed various duties in and around Perth and in Regional Western Australia. His primary role in the Police was of a first responder to a significant number of incidents including violent crimes in progress and various coronial investigations. He became a trainer in Police accoutrements and tactics in 2004 and continued to be engaged in general duties policing whilst running training programs. Yee has been trained in Close Personal Protection roles. Yee regularly validates and moderates new and existing training packages to improve agency training and safety.
